one day
The World Chess Day is an international day dedicated to celebrating the game of chess. It is observed on July 20th of each year, in accordance with the decision of the United Nations General Assembly issued in 2019. This date was chosen as a result of the International Chess Federation's initiative, which has been celebrating this day since 1966. The date was selected because it coincides with the founding of the federation in Paris in 1924. The United Nations chose to celebrate World Chess Day for several reasons, including recognizing the sport's ability to break barriers and combat discrimination, its contribution to education and sustainable development, and the unique role of chess as a low-cost and accessible activity in various places, disregarding barriers, including gender equality and empowering women and girls.
