One day
World Autism Awareness Day is globally celebrated on April 2nd of each year. The goal of this global celebration is to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder and to alert caregivers to its presence. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution in 2008 designating April 2nd as World Autism Awareness Day to improve the quality of life for children and adults living with this disorder. The celebration encourages individuals not to feel ashamed about acknowledging their autism diagnosis, to seek early diagnosis, and to avoid exacerbating symptoms and reducing the mortality rates of children affected by related developmental disorders.
